Ham with Honey Mustard Sauce (Christmas Recipe)
Ham with honey mustard sauce is one of those dishes that brings the Christmas table to mind: fragrant, glossy, sweet and tangy, with a festive touch that turns a meal into a true celebration!
Ingredients
- •1 cooked boneless smoked ham, 500g
- •Juice of 2 oranges
- •150ml dry white wine
- •3 tablespoons mustard
- •4 tablespoons honey
- •15 whole cloves
Instructions
- 1
Make shallow cuts about a finger-width apart across the top and sides of the ham. Insert the cloves into the cuts.
- 2
In a bowl, combine the orange juice, honey, mustard and dry white wine, and mix well.
- 3
Place the ham in a deep roasting tin and pour the sauce over it. Turn the ham so the clove-studded side faces down into the sauce.
- 4
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes. Remove the tin from the oven, turn the ham over and bake for another 20 minutes (40 minutes in total).
- 5
Remove just the ham from the tin and transfer it to a cutting board. Pour the sauce into a saucepan or frying pan.
- 6
Reduce the sauce over low heat for approximately 5 to 10 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- 7
Slice the ham and serve with the honey mustard sauce spooned over it. Enjoy!
