Breaded Bologna mortadella is one of those recipes that turn a simple ingredient — and a much-loved favorite in Brazil — into a golden, crispy snack that really stands out!
Prep: 25 minCook: 5 minYield: Serves 4
Ingredients
- •1 beaten egg
- •1 piece of Bologna mortadella weighing 300 grams
- •Breadcrumbs, enough for coating
- •Wheat flour, enough for coating
- •Vegetable oil, enough for frying
Instructions
- 1
Cut the mortadella into medium-sized triangular pieces.
- 2
Coat them in the flour, then dip them in the beaten egg and let any excess drip off.
- 3
Finish by coating the mortadella pieces thoroughly in breadcrumbs.
- 4
Heat enough oil for frying in a frying pan until very hot.
- 5
Fry the pieces until golden underneath. Turn them over and let the other side brown as well.
- 6
As the pieces finish frying, remove them and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.
- 7
Once the paper towels have absorbed the excess oil, the breaded mortadella is ready to serve.
