Brigadeirão (Brazilian Chocolate Flan)
This Brazilian chocolate flan is delicious! Learn how to make it with our recipe:
Ingredients
- •2 cans of milk (use the condensed milk can to measure)
- •1 can of sweetened condensed milk (approximately 395g)
- •3 whole eggs
- •3 tablespoons of chocolate powder
- •1 tablespoon of margarine or butter
- •Chocolate sprinkles (optional, for decorating)
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- 2
Grease a ring-shaped flan mold with margarine or butter and set aside.
- 3
Place the sweetened condensed milk, milk, chocolate powder, whole eggs and margarine in a blender.
- 4
Blend until smooth.
- 5
Pour the mixture into the prepared flan mold.
- 6
Cover the mold with aluminum foil.
- 7
Place the mold in a larger baking dish and pour hot water into the dish until it reaches about halfway up the sides of the flan mold. This creates a water bath for baking the flan.
- 8
Place in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 1 hour.
- 9
Check whether the flan is set by inserting a toothpick or knife; it should come out clean when the flan is ready.
- 10
Remove from the oven and let cool before unmolding.
- 11
Once completely cool, turn the flan out onto a serving plate.
- 12
If desired, decorate with chocolate sprinkles before serving.
- 13
Serve the flan chilled. You can refrigerate it for a few hours before serving to make it even firmer and more flavorful.
